How to create a single news article content page.

To add a News content page, click Content > Add content > News

News fields


News item title. Keep to 70 characters (eg Australia Day long weekend road safety blitz).


Date the story was first published.


You can tag your news story with a region of Melbourne or Victoria:

  • Eastern metropolitan Melbourne
  • Northern metropolitan Melbourne
  • Southeastern metropolitan Melbourne
  • Southern metropolitan Melbourne
  • Western metropolitan Melbourne
  • Eastern Victoria
  • Northern Victoria
  • Western Victoria

This field is not mandatory; it can be left blank.


Owner of the news story:

  • Department of Education and Training
  • Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning
  • Department of Health and Human Services
  • Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions
  • Department of Justice and Community Safety
  • Department of Premier and Cabinet
  • Department of Transport
  • Department of Treasury and Finance

This field is not mandatory; it can be left blank.

The following dimensions are required for the news feature:

A short summary of the story in one sentence. 


Add the body of your news story. Order your paragraphs from most newsworthy to least newsworthy.


Include the lead of the news story. The lead is one sentence long and summarises the facts of the news story. 


Select 1 topic most relevant to your news story. This is important so your new story shows in the news search filters.
