The SDP product roadmap provides an outline of what we've delivered and what we're planning to deliver and when.

SDP goals for 2020

In 2020, SDP began its transition from 'project to product.' This year we have 3 main goals:

  1. support the migration and scale of content onto SDP
  2. sustainable operational excellence
  3. improve the core publishing experience

Current and upcoming missions

To achieve these goals, the team will undertake quarterly missions.

  • proactively engineer for platform reliability
  • improve the content ‘creation and publishing’ experience
  • enable users to find and navigate the scale of content on SDP
  • allow content authors and administrators to publish and manage content at scale

SDP roadmap

  • Focus: automate and manage 'content at scale' in the CMS

    • automation of site upgrades
    • automated regression testing
    • Drupal 8.8 upgrade
    • complex listings
    • accessibility audit
    • site performance improvement
    • user management enhancements 
  • Focus: Starting our first mission to improve the content ‘creation & publishing’ experience. This mission will look to:

    • Improve the core content experience from UI, preview capability and media management
    • Review existing templates

    Other improvements: 

    • automation of site upgrades
    • data visualisations
    • Structured data
    • Webform enhancements
    • Enhanced event template functionality
